autumn project during indian summer?!

Last thursday we leaf collected, leaf stomped and had a great time in the garden, followed by some fabby collages of lovely brown leaves on a tree trunk, nicely laminated to finish :-) Today we made a big old tree trunk with brown tissue paper and wool, then after school each child made a leaf for our tree. Mark says we will run out of wall space soon.....

trouble is I told O that it was autumn and we'd have loads more leaves in the garden soon enough....and we haven't, and its sunny (and I love it!) and its so NOT autumn is it?!!

how to find the time?!!

Well its been weeks since I found the time to update on here! Things going great, enjoying how busy it is keeping me, trying to keep on top of the paperwork side of it all (yawn!) and best of all enjoying this late sunshine ;-P

Walked to school a few times, park stops on the way. Scrapbook sessions to fill an hour after school, and Postman Pat cake making tied in very nicely with our post office and communication role play set up last week. With a bit of help from Cbeebies website, Postman pat section, some old birthday cards and a till, plus an old keyboard, some old mobile phones and the Fisher Price telephone, we have our very own post office and our very own communication centre.

Amongst the boys, the trainset however remains a firm favourite, closely followed by cars and the garage...leading me to a transport theme next I think!

back to school

School run this morning, lovely sunny morning, quite nice waiting in the playground....remind me of that come the frozen mornings in December!! Ran the boys ragged with outdoor play and parks all morning, making the most of that sunshine. Races across the field, swinging high in the sky and lots of time in the sandpit in the garden...made Mark sweep it all up this evening!!

Some trains, a spot of pirates and teddy bear picnics, and some stick puppet making completed an exhausting but fun first day back....after hoovering, cleaning, tidying and bedtime in this house, I went for a run...and now I am not moving until the morning :-)
